Deer Valley Real Estate Information

Home to the ski resort that is consistently named the best in North America -- garnering that recognition three years in a row by Ski Magazine -- the Deer Valley area of Park City, Utah, is well renowned for its top slopes. The first ski resort at Deer Valley opened in 1981 and began to grow, contributing to the booming of the local economy as Park City then added two more resorts to complement Deer Valley. The resort has three lodges: Silver Lake, Snow Park and Empire Canyon.

The Deer Valley resort is conveniently situated just 36 miles from the Salt Lake City International Airport. The resort is open for skiing from around the first of December until near the beginning of April each year, depending on weather conditions. Visitors can take a few turns down one of the resorts six mountains. When tiring of skiing, there's plenty more to do, from snowmobiling, hot air balloon and sleigh rides, snowshoeing, mountain biking and hiking. During the summer, while the ski resort is not in session, it operates the Deer Valley Summer Adventure Camp for children.

Situated in Park City, the Deer Valley area is just minutes away from 131 restaurants and nearly 300 retail stores in the city. It is just one mile from Main Street, which is accessible via free city buses. Park City has a lodging capacity of nearly 23,500 and is home to such large events as the Sundance Film Festival, Art Festival, Summer Concert Series and the Jazz Fest.

There are also Utah Symphony and Opera performances and concerts in the Outdoor Amphitheatre, and plenty of spas and health clubs to visit for some relaxation. The Deer Valley area is served by the Park City School District, which has  four elementary schools, two middle schools and one high school.
