Thaynes Canyon Real Estate Information

The Thaynes Canyon neighborhood of Park City is a hilly area by McPolin Farm, which features a large white barn that is a prominent icon of the city and seen in many of its photos and promotional material.

Residences in the community lie along the grounds of the Park City Golf Course, which transformed into a cross-country area during the winter. The community lies near the base  of the Park City Mountain Resort, one of just three of Park City's major, world-famous ski resorts. M

Thaynes Canyon has only single-family homes and no condos. They range in value from $650,000 to $8.8 million. In 2009, homes were selling for average prices just below $1 million, with four sold from April through September. The city's Main Street, full of shopping, dining options and art galleries, is just a short walk from here, or it can be reached via the city's free bus system. Park City can house more than 23,000 visitors in its rental properties and many times, all units are filled to capacity during the popular winter months.

Park City is home to such large events as the  two-week long Winterfest in January, with concerts, winter sports competitions, fireworks and an ice sculpture competition, as well as the internationally known Sundance Film Festival, the Art Festival, a Summer Concert Series and the Jazz Fest. The city is home to three major ski resorts and brings in thousands of tourists every year.  Events are held annually throughout the year at the Eccles Center for the Performing Arts.
